Backlit Keys No. Slim Folio for iPad 5th and 6th gen.An iPad can do almost everything a laptop can, but to truly replace a computer, you need a great physical keyboard, too.
The Slim Folio is more pleasant to type on—and more like a typical laptop keyboard—than any of the competition, and it provides thorough protection without adding unnecessary bulk. Great keys, a smart auto-wake feature, a four-year battery life, and good looks make this the best iPad keyboard case around.
Like the versions for standard iPads, this keyboard case is our favorite for the iPad Air because it offers the same set of features and the same overall value. Dedicated iPadOS function keys provide quick access to commonly used features, and an Apple Pencil holder lets you easily carry the stylus around. Although the Slim Folio is a bit thicker than some of the competition, its polyurethane or fabric exterior depending on the model looks and feels nicer. The Combo Touch offers a good trackpad and a great keyboard, turning your iPad into a mini laptop.
Also compatible with the The keys themselves provide an excellent typing experience, and the case is more protective than the Slim Folio. If you want an all-in-one option, the Combo Touch is worth the price premium. The biggest downside to the Logitech Slim Folio is that it can prop up the iPad only at a single angle. The Typecase formerly Yekbee Rotatable provides much more flexibility because it connects the case to the keyboard with a pivot point.
This design allows you to not only tilt the iPad back and forth but also to rotate it around and fold it flat against the typing surface, much as you would do with a convertible laptop. This standalone Bluetooth keyboard—paired with whatever case you like on your iPad—is cheaper, but it may be less convenient. To get the least expensive keyboard case without having to sacrifice a good typing experience, pair our favorite Bluetooth keyboardthe Logitech K for Mac Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboardwith a good iPad case.
You can dramatically increase your iPad productivity with real, tactile keys that let you type almost as quickly and with almost as few errors as you can on your computer.
The Best iPad Keyboard Cases
And most keyboard cases are specifically designed to let you type on your lap, as you would with a laptop, making a keyboard case better for portable use than an iPad with a separate keyboard and stand. But before you rush out and buy a keyboard case, consider the drawbacks and temper your expectations, because adding a keyboard case to your iPad is all about making compromises.
You get the superior productivity and typing experience of a physical keyboard, but you also add noticeable bulk and weight. An iPad keyboard case is worth getting if you need to use a physical keyboard regularly and you want one with you most of the time.
Even then, you should at least consider a standalone Bluetooth keyboard instead. If you prefer separate options, we have recommendations for compact standalone keyboards and iPad stands.
Here are the things an iPad keyboard case should offer:. Of the models that met our criteria, we tested each for a minimum of two weeks of regular use, and we used each of the top contenders for much longer.
Sometimes a great overall design is ruined by a bad typing experience; sometimes a fantastic keyboard is hampered by a poorly designed case or stand. The Logitech Slim Folio is the best iPad keyboard for people who type a lot.
In a relatively small field of trustworthy competition, the Slim Folio is the best to type on thanks to great keyboard hardware and a proper key layout. Tab, Caps Lock, Shift, and Command, for example, are still wider than the letter keys, but not by as much as they are on a full-size keyboard. Getting used to slightly smaller keys is easier than having to relearn where a bunch of keys are every time you switch from your computer to your iPad. The Slim Folio also offers a nice array of iPadOS-specific special-function keys in a half-height row across the top.
We enjoyed typing on the Slim Folio, and we found that the physical keys were large enough to be comfortable and easy to press; they provided good tactile feedback, too. Key travel was shallow compared with that of a high-quality laptop keyboard, though it was better than on a inch or inch MacBook Pro with the butterfly-style keyboard. The whole thing is also sturdier than its competition: Whereas other iPad keyboards we tested flexed under the pressure of our fingers pressing down on the keys, the Slim Folio did not.
One of the best features of the Slim Folio is its automatic connection. The initial Bluetooth pairing process is identical to that of any other wireless keyboard and takes a matter of seconds.
When that happens, the keyboard instantly wakes up and is ready for you to type. Other models may require you to press a button to wake up the keyboard, whereas this one is ready when you are, without a second thought. And when you lift the iPad off the base, the keyboard automatically disconnects. Hi Margot Dragon. Thank you for reaching Logitech! Apologies for the late response. Please allow us to assist you with your Slim Folio Pro connection concern. Sometimes, reconnecting a bluetooth device to an iPad or even other bluetooth machines, it tends to remember the previous connection which causes you not to be able to have them paired back.
What we can suggest you to do is to refresh the connection, then reconnect the bluetooth fresh. You may refer to the steps below for guide. If you have further inquiry, please do not hesitate to reach back to us or contact our support team for direct assistance. Hi Kristen Kopald. If the keyboard won't still pair up after the troubleshooting steps provided, it will be best to have it raised to our support team for further assistance.
One other option that you can do, is to get in touch with the point of purchase if the device is relatively new. Hi Janet Bedell. Thank you for reaching out. With the pairing concern, start with the iPad Bluetooth settings and have the previous connection forgotten. Please sign in to leave a comment. Margot Dragon 07 October Sort by Date Votes. I have an iPad 6th generation 9. I had it paired but had to charge it and it is no longer paired. I get all the way through the Bluetooth pairing process and it gives me a six digit number to enter. As soon as I put the number in on the keyboard and press enter, it goes away. My keyboard is charged fully, I have tried to clear everything by shutting it all down, still will not pair. Any help or ideas out there for me? Posted on Aug 8, PM. Page content loaded. Aug 8, PM in response to doodles In response to doodles I believe you enter the 6 digit number on the iPad, NOT the logitech.
It's not paired until it's been accepted by the iPad, so entering the numbers on the Logitech won't do anything.

Logitech SLIM COMBO and Logitech SLIM FOLIO: Updated and Ready for Fifth and Sixth-Gen iPad
I originally thought that too but when I read the instructions it specifically says on the Logitech keyboard. It then gives no other instructions and if I hit enter on the Logitech keyboard it just all goes away and there is no way I can get the iPad keyboard to appear so I can try that one. There is some little step that must be missing! I have talked with Logitech and Apple for support with no luck at all.
I will have to take it to an Apple store that sold it to me that is 3. Communities Contact Support. Sign in Sign in Sign in corporate. Browse Search. Ask a question. If you're gluten-free these top tips from Coeliac UK will help make the everyday a little easier.
Coeliac disease is a lifelong, serious autoimmune disease caused by the immune system reacting to gluten - a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. The only treatment for the condition is a strict gluten-free diet for life.
Here are Coeliac UK's top 10 tips for everyday eating. All packaged food in the UK and the EU is covered by a law on allergen labelling, meaning you can tell whether or not a product is suitable for a gluten-free diet by reading the ingredients list. If a cereal containing gluten has been used as an ingredient in the product, it must be listed in the ingredients list (no matter how little is used).
Often, these ingredients will be highlighted in bold. Instead, switch to gluten-free alternatives of your favourite foods, which you will find in most supermarkets and health food stores. Gluten-free substitute foods include pasta, bread, crackers, bread rolls, cereals and more.
Those medically diagnosed with coeliac disease can receive some gluten-free staple food on prescription from the NHS. Fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, cheese and eggs are naturally gluten-free, so use these as the basis to your meals.
Quinoa, teff, amaranth, polenta, buckwheat, corn, millet and tapioca are just some of the naturally gluten-free grains which can be included in the diet. Just check the labels to make sure you are using uncontaminated versions. Try swapping traditional breadcrumbs for polenta crumbs, opt for gluten-free buckwheat or rice noodles and pasta and try baking with quinoa for gluten-free alternatives. Gluten-free alcohol includes cider, wine, sherry, spirits, port and liqueurs, but remember that beer, lagers, stouts and ales contain varying amounts of gluten and are not suitable for a gluten-free diet.
Gluten-free beers are available in some supermarkets and restaurants, but make sure you only drink those that are labelled in this way. Even a tiny bit of gluten can be enough to cause symptoms for someone with coeliac disease, so make sure you minimise the risk of cross contamination with gluten-containing foods. Do this by washing down kitchen surfaces before use, using separate butters, spreads and jams to minimise the spread of crumbs and invest in some toaster bags to keep your gluten-free bread separate.
Instead, try making your own pasta sauces and gravies using cornflour, arrowroot or potato starch to thicken them for a gluten-free option.Industry leading content delivery based on highly accurate data.
